The Gator Snow Ski and Activities Club is a group of active fun loving, sports minded people, who also share a love for winter activities. The Club's existence began in the early 1970's when a small group of Pratt & Whitney employees from Connecticut banded together with local ski enthusiasts in order to inform and promote the sport of snow skiing. Today the Club have about 400 members and too over 200 skiers & snowboarders on ski trips this year. Our founding fathers adopted the alligator logo because of its association with South Florida. They did not intent to emulate any University or College! Our ski program has evolved into one of the best anywhere. We typically visit from 6 to 8 resorts each season taking from 30 to sometimes as many as 130 Gators. During the 2011-12 ski season, we have trips to Vail, Steamboat (FSC Trip), Crested Butte, Copper Mountain, and Canyons, Utah. The trips for 2013 will be announced soon. The January Florida Ski Council trip is to Heavenly, Lake Tahoe. Our Socials and Activities Committee encompass countless volunteers that give generously of their time and energy to help whenever possible, provide the best parties, and special activities for members every month. In addition to our ski trips and monthly socials, our summer program has taken us to exotic places such as our recent trip to Scotland and Ireland, and Macchu Pachu and the Galapagos. In September, 2012 we have a cruise to the legendary Danube River, for a trip of a lifetime. Come join us and get involved. You won't be disappointed and you WILL make new friends! General Membership meetings are held the second Thursday of each month, and beginning January, 2012 they will be at the North Palm Beach Country Club. The meetings take place in the ballroom, with Social and event signup time starting at 7:00 pm, and the business meeting starts at 8:00 pm. Cash bar available.
